The top features of a desirable property have shifted over the past few years; square footage used to be the top priority for a huge percentage of buyers, where this is no longer as high a priority compared to transport links and broadband strength.
The most popular features that homebuyers look for have changed massively in the last few years – pre-Covid, square footage was one of the biggest focuses when buying a property, whereas now transport links and broadband strength is one of the most common search terms and requests from new buyers.
An independent survey repeated this year and compared with results in 2021 has revealed the most important factors buyers consider when searching for property.
The most important factor that buyers focussed on in their searches was broadband and mobile connectivity – in 2021, the top factor was a garden/outside space. Needs are shifting, with more of us working from home regularly.
Another factor that has taken a huge leap up the importance ladder compared to 2021 is transport links, which sat as the 14th most important factor but has jumped up to 6th place in the 2024 survey. It’s becoming increasingly more common for buyers to choose property further out from their preferred city and commute in, to get the best value for their money.
As priorities change, different types of property become more or less attractive – but some properties are able to tick all of the boxes and appeal to buyers. Our newest flagship development, Ancoats Gardens, holds up to all of the top features that buyers look for, having strong signal, and incredible transport links whilst still being within the city centre, access to outside spaces with private roof gardens and select apartments having balconies.
Ancoats Gardens is the perfect choice for both investors and owner-occupiers alike, fulfilling the top needs of both renters and buyers in the city. If you’ve been looking for a property, now is the time to move forward. Speak to our expert property consultants today to find out more about Ancoats Gardens.
