13% rise in number of buyers seeking new-build property

In a recent survey, almost a fifth of property investors and buyers said that they were looking for new-build property, which is a 13% rise compared to the past three years. With demand for new-build property rising, investors are having to act sooner to secure their investment as competition increases.

A fifth of investors now looking for new-build property

With more and more property investors now turning to new-build property, demand is steadily increasing within the new-build market. With mortgage rates levelling out and interest rates expecting to decrease under the new Labour Government, demand is continuously building, meaning investors who want to secure new builds need to act faster than ever.

Advantages of new build properties

With multiple benefits of investing in new builds, one of the biggest positives that over 60% of investors highlighted was how much more energy-efficient new-build properties are. 46% of investors were also focused on there being no chain in a new-build sale, reducing the risk of the sale falling through. 31% of investors were focused on the design perspective of buying a new build, saving them time and effort into renovating or redecorating to achieve a better price and be more attractive to tenants.

“New-build homes offer additional benefits over buying a second hand property, most notably better energy efficiency and the possibility to purchase your home using a scheme like shared ownership as well as the availability of special offers and incentives.”

Further benefits of new build properties

Some of the other positives highlighted by investors buying new build properties were the opportunity to benefit from financial incentives, a warranty, on-site amenities, better safety standards, and a concierge service. All of these positives apply to our flagship development, Ancoats Gardens, which completed in August 2023 and was primarily sold off-plan, giving investors the chance to secure their property ahead of completion.
